Arrow Air denied access
Ross Mallery and Michael Mendez, two Arrow Air representatives sent by the airline to Gander the day after the crash were both denied access to both the command center and the crash site for some 9 hours from their time of arrival. They were told that the CASB was in charge and that they were only to be used in an advisory capacity. Both sat outside the command centre as representatives from the U.S. Army, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, the CASB, the FBI and the RCMP filed in and out. By late afternoon Mr. Mendez was taken to the crash site but only after the press had been allowed in. (see Exhibit 16)
